In October of 1997, our client signed an order contract for water treatment equipment with a company in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, China, worth RMB1.52 million yuans. But after the delivery, our client found serious quality problems. After paying the 1.3 million yuan for the goods, our client detained RMB140,000 yuans as the quality retention money and another RMB70,000 yuans as the balance of the payment. In May of 2002, the supplier sued our client in Yixing City court on the grounds that our client had defaulted on the payment of RMB219,300 yuans. Then the court sent two judges to our client's location and frozen our client's deposit of RMB300,000 yuans in a local bank. Our client lost in the court and appealed to the higher court, Wuxi Intermediate People's Court.

Results:

 Wuxi Intermediate Court ruled in favor of our client. The case was closed.
